About Us
NAJAD YACHTS: Scandinavian Yachts is the authorized representative on the East Coast of the United States for Najad Yachts of Sweden. Our main office is in Newport, Rhode Island, with an additional location in Waukegan, Illinois, to assist clients in the Great Lakes. Jennifer Stewart and Alan Baines have over 35 years of experience in selling high quality new and used yachts built in Scandinavia to clients in the United States and worldwide. They have the experience necessary to assist you in specifying a yacht to match your needs, and to help you either import a boat or take delivery virtually anywhere!
NAJAD BROKERAGE: Together with other Najad agents and dealers, we follow the brokerage market and can find you the perfect brokerage Najad. If the boat is overseas, we also will coordinate the delivery, either by locating a suitable crew or a commercial shipper. Many Najads are based in Northern Baltic waters, and thus have had light use as well as inside winter storage.
GENERAL YACHT BROKERAGE: We offer a full service yacht brokerage for all types of high quality yachts, both sail and power. We specialize, of course, in those yachts built in Northern Europe, such as Swan, Baltic, Sweden, Jonmeri, Hallberg Rassy and many others.
BROKERS:
Alan Baines has been involved in the sailing industry since 1985. He has an extensive sailing and marine background as a second officer in the Merchant Navy with a degree in boat yard management, as well as a service manager for a very busy yard on Cape Cod for several years. Alan was a broker with Nautor’s Swan in Newport for many years, and was responsible for the sale of many new and used yachts.
Jennifer Stewart was involved with Nautor’s Swan for over 24 years, as a broker and agent. She has an in depth knowledge of current and past production Swans, and maintains her contacts with a worldwide information and service network. The depth of her client database is such that often she is aware of opportunities from which a great deal arises for a current client! Jennifer also runs the rendezvous programs.
Jennifer and Alan will work together to ensure that your yacht purchase is truly an enjoyable experience.
